Carrie Fisher Will Not Feature In Star Wars: Episode IX
Despite the claims from Todd Fisher, brother of the late Carrie Fisher that her character Leia will feature in Star Wars Episode IX, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has revealed otherwise.
In an interview with Good Morning America on Friday, Kennedy stated that "sadly, Carrie will not be in nine but we will see a lot of Carrie in eight". You can watch the full interview below as Kennedy explains her reasons.

Apparently, before her death, Carrie had already finished shooting her scenes for eight and as that time, the scripts for nine were not ready. Kennedy said Todd Fisher must have been "confused" when he earlier stated that footage of late Carrie Fisher's Leia will be put into the last installment of the franchise.
Lucasfilms has also stated that resurrecting Princess Leia digitally using CGI will not be done. At the Star Wars Celebration, a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher was released which you can view below.
